Could it be that racism has become being extra sensitive to minorities and being mistreated by them? I don't get around much, but that is the way it seems to be from here. It seems minorities can say anything they want about anyone they want, while non-minorities cannot say anything that any well known minority does not approve. Then, there are the ever present buzzard lawyers and media, ready to make a buck by stirring up a controversy any way they can, no matter who gets hurt.
Many members of minorities are becoming satisfied (maybe suconsciously) to earn less money and receive government assistance such as housing projects or live totally on welfare because they have been convinced that is the best they are supposed to do. Of course, there are many minorities who have taken advantage of the opportunities as they were intended and have integrated into mainstream society. Too, there are many who did not need any help and proved there are opportunities for anyone with the will to succeed on their own, by making a good living with nothing but the fair chance that is out there, for anyone who really wants to get ahead-legally.
